At at 8 pm on September 20th, 2020 the 72nd Emmy Awards Show was held via a live zoom call. The 6 nominees for lead actress in a drama series were: Olivia Colman(The Crown), Sandra Oh( Killing Eve), Jodie Corner(Killing Eve), Jennifer Aniston( The Morning Show), Laura Linney(Ozark), and lastly Zendaya(Euphoria). Each woman sat waiting to hear their name called.

Most people know Zendaya from her Disney show “Shake It Up” but now she has the lead role on Euphoria, an HBO series. This show is a drama series that came out on June 16, 2019. It follows Rue, played by Zendaya, who is a 17 yr old drug addict who just got out of rehab and doesn’t plan on staying clean. The show describes the life of many teens who are going through tough things.  

And the winner was…Zendaya! From Disney all the way to an adult series, she has accomplished a lot at such a young age.
