A New Football Coach at MRHS

Mr. Ala has recently been named Manchester’s new Head Football Coach.  An MRHS 2004 graduate, career Teacher of History, and 12 season assistant football coach, Mr. Ala definitely has an extensive understanding of the Manchester Community.  He will have some pretty big shoes to fill as he replaces long time coach Randy Roca, but Mr. Ala is clearly up for the challenge.

In a recent article written by Greg Tartaglia for northjersey.com, Mr. Ala was quoted as saying, “Coach Roca’s really been a great mentor, and I’ve learned a lot coaching under him,” Ala said. “There were a lot of ups and downs, and a lot of things we had to deal with – coaching at Manchester isn’t always the easiest thing to do.” He continued to explain, “But I’ve learned a lot about how to deal with certain situations, how to keep the kids up, keep them motivated and get them going.”

With a new coach, an advanced turf field, and the prospect of a Covid free school year, Mr. Ala stated, “I’m really excited for next year – I think a lot of good things are going to be taking place.”
