My Moment: A Classic Fall Outing
October 6, 2021
Gradually making our way up to Main Street, my cousins and I side by side. As I looked down the street further there had been a bustling of people walking in and out of these vintage-like stores. Occasionally, there had been a person quickly jogging past us shooting us a grin from time to time. I felt the gentle rays of sunlight gracefully dance upon my skin leaving a gentle glow. Taking a deep breath in I smelled the sweet summer day and soaked it in its entirety. As people sat at outdoor dining tables bantering amongst each other. The bustling of the street had been so fulfilling that I felt like it was almost surreal. Birds chirping all around and slight hums of the bees tied this excursion together.
Hackettstown this time around felt like a Halloween town movie aesthetic. The texture of the pavement beneath my shoes firmly kept me balanced as we walked along the street. Passing along various restaurants made my mouth water. There had been a warm smell of freshly cooked pizza that filled the air. No longer could the watermelon flavored gum in my mouth satisfy my taste buds. A smile pursed along my face as I saw a monarch butterfly or two quickly fluttering its wings around a bed of tulips. The bustling of the street and its natural tune of the birds combined with stores’ bells of people entering and exiting began to form a muse in my memory which left my mind at a peaceful unrest.Â
