43 year old Omar Sy is a French actor who is best known for his comedy with Fred Testot. He was born and raised in Trappes, France and was one of 8 children. He was born on January 20, 1978 after both of his parents moved from West Africa. He is currently married to Helene Sy and has five beautiful children. Four of his children, two sons and two daughters, were born in France and their fifth child was born in Los Angeles, after they moved there.  

Before becoming an actor, Omar was a comedian. After high school, Omar got a job as a comedian on a French radio station called Radio Nova. That’s where he met his comedy partner, Fred Testot. They worked for almost 7 years together making comedy skits. Omar Sy is also a great French actor and he has been featured in many movies and shows like The Intouchables, Lupin, Jurassic Park, X-Men: Days of Future Past, and many more. He got more recognition after being in the Intouchables and Lupin. The movie and show has been his best work so far. He even did the voiceover in French for the 2020 Pixar movie, Soul. On February 24, 2021, Omar had won the Cesar Award for Best Actor for his role in The Intouchables and it made him the first black man to win this award. He also was nominated for a Satellite Award for Best Actor. 

His hardwork in both the industry and with his family has inspired me. Not only was he working hard to make great movies and shows for everyone to enjoy, but he was making sure he was there for his family. Even as a kid, Omar stayed strong and was very hardworking. He has very strong connections with his roots and he tries to keep his life private. Another reason I find him inspiring is because both he and his wife travel across the world to help refugee camps so they could help the people in need. His wife, Helena is the president of the CeKeDuBonheur association, and they help to improve the lives of hospitalized children and families.
