The Simpsons sitcom is a satirical depiction of American life, epitomized by the Simpson family, the show is set in the fictional town of Springfield and parodies American culture and society, television, and the human condition. The show first aired on December 17, 1989, many people love this show. Throughout the series of the Simpsons, many people have speculated that the show predicts the future. There are many reasons as to why the show does indeed predict the future, and what makes people wonder how the writer is capable of doing so. The series is a funny sitcom, but it has its own kicks that comes with it, nobody would have thought they would be the show that predicts our future.
On many different occasions the show has proven to be successful in connecting ties to our lives. Many people believe in different things when it comes to the Simpsons, some believe that the show does predicts the future while others believe that the writer, Matt Groening, of the sitcom just gets lucky enough to predict the things that happen in real life today. The writer has continued to impact our lives with his predictions as the years goes by. The prediction that sticks out the most was the year of 1993 when the show had an episode about a pandemic occurring. Later in 2020 the United States faced a huge pandemic that had shut down the world for a very long time. The world had changed dramatically, masks needed to be worn, quarantine, virtual school, social distances, and more. The world has changed so much since the year of 2020. Once again, In the year of 2000 the Simpsons had predicted Trump winning the election and becoming president of the United States, six years later Trump did win the election. Many people were surprised and terrified at the same time that the writer was capable of coming close to predicting the presidency of Trump.
This show has constantly made an impact on the way people see the world, because this show has proven to be correct in most of the things that have aired on their show. These two predictions stick out the most, because they have the heaviest impact on us today. And as the days go past we are still affected today.
