Dear Guidance Counselors at MRHS,
Thank you for the constant sacrifices you’ve made. Every single day, hundreds of kids come into your offices with problems such as relationships, home life, class problems, grades, and college. Students have a lot of things to worry about, and knowing that they have their guidance counselors to confide in them, makes everything a lot easier.
A lot of us don’t realize how important the work you guys do is. Trying to guide hundreds of students a day figuring out what is best for them in the future, classes, and problems within the students lives. Being a guidance counselor can take a toll on your mental health and personal life. Dealing with so many other problems that aren’t even yours can have an affect on you. So we all thank you for coming to work every single day and being the best you can be at guiding us into the future. A lot can happen in just one day for a guidance counselor, which can become draining and difficult to continue on with your day.
Guidance counselors aren’t appreciated as much as they deserve to be. Or even at all. One day I was in desperate need of guidance when looking into colleges and what I wanted to do after graduation. I liked doing a lot of different things but writing is the one thing that’s stuck with me my whole life. My counselor, Mrs. Rodriguez was there to help guide me through into what I want to do in the future. She showed me journalism and how perfect I fit into this job. She guided me to find my dream job and is also helping others.
Guidance counselors are constantly overlooked. They work hard for so many students making sure they succeed in life no matter what. We don’t thank our guidance counselors enough. So thank you to all guidance counselors across the globe who are guiding this new generation!
