Dear Cousins of the World, 

First, I want to start by saying that you guys can be some of the closest friends a person can have. Growing up you often act like brothers or sisters. Every time someone ends up seeing their favorite cousin they always get totally excited. 

Cousins are always at birthdays, celebrations, and family reunions, making every time the family gets together really fun. Many people share their childhood secrets and inside jokes with their cousins which is why these types of relationships are the best. Having cousins is like a mix of a family bond and a best friend relationship. 

Cousins also have an understanding of the life situation you’re in. They know the same stories about the family, laugh at the same jokes that your uncles and aunts make, and usually share the same sense of humor as you do.

According to sources, over 90% of people see cousins as siblings. This shows how important it is to have a close bond with your cousin because if you don’t have siblings then cousins are the closest thing to it. Even if you live far away from your cousin you can still have a bond every time you end up seeing them. Whether you are close to your cousin or not they are often someone that you can rely on when you are feeling down or you just need someone to laugh with.
