Although going to concerts, amusement parks, vacation, and or spending money every time you go out can be fun, not all can afford it, which is okay. What’s most important is the people you are with because they can help turn a boring, regular day into something unforgettable with just a little creativity.
Here are some Fun & Affordable ideas you can try
Game night
Everyone can bring one of their favorite games to play. For example, they can bring board games, card games, puzzles, hang man or everyone can even download games like “Heads Up”, “Among Us”, and “8 Ball”.
Thrift store challenge
Go to a nearby Thrift store and decide on a limit to spend, like 7 to 15 dollars, and then you guys can challenge each other to try and see who can make the funniest, cutest, or ugliest outfit while doing a photoshoot. Or you guys can do a challenge where one person closes their eyes and goes down the aisle with their hand touching each piece of clothing, and the other person tells them to stop on an item and at the end when you have a whole outfit from head to toe you try it on and see how your outfit looks.
Family or friend field day
Grab a partner and get ready to play some games against each other. For example, a sponge relay, balloon pop race, obstacle course race, and try not to drop and break the egg, bottle flipping challenge and etc.
Picnic in the park
Get a blanket and pack some snacks from around the house, get a speaker, and invite your friends to have a picnic at the closest park. You guys can play music, dance, take pictures, gossip, fly a knife, and just enjoy each other’s presence.
Paint rocks
All this takes is a few bottles of paint that you can get from the dollar store and free rocks that you find outside, maybe on the sidewalk.
Movie night
You can invite some family and friends to your house and have a movie night in the living room. Grab some popcorn, throw it in the microwave or the stove, and let it cook for a few minutes. Then get some blankets and get comfort. You might be thinking I don’t have a Netflix or Hulu account, which is perfectly fine because there are many free movies on YouTube. And there are free movie websites, but you might have to watch ads.
DIY flower walk
All this takes is a cardboard and a pencil. First, you find a cardboard and draw a vase with a marker, pencil, or pen, whatever you have at home works fine. Once done, you can use whatever you used to draw the vase to poke holes through the cardboard. Then you can go for a walk around the neighborhood or park and fill the holes with flowers. At the end, you will have your custom vase full of flowers, making a beautiful piece of art.
DIY slip and slide
Hot summer day, looking to cool off and have some fun, grab some trash bags ( tape them together to make a long rectangle) or a plastic tarp, dish soap, and you’re all set.
BONUS
You can check out your city’s or town’s page and see if they are hosting any free outdoor activities, like movie night, karaoke, or a fair with rides. And plan to go with your friends to make it fun.
To wrap it up
You don’t need to have a whole bunch of money to have a nice and fun summer. When you’re with the people you love, no matter what you do, you can always make a good time out of it. With the internet, getting ideas and being creative can go such a long way. So don’t be down if you think you’re not going to have a good summer because you don’t have money (there is no such thing). Get out there and plan stuff, and make memories to look back at.
