Dear Fathers Around the World
I would like to give recognition to the least awarded people among both parents. Thank you to those fathers who stepped up for their kids. Especially the ones who stepped up for other people’s kids. Though fathers don’t have the best track record, some step up to the plate they made for themselves. So thank you to the fathers who step up every day. Thank you for saving the futures of children. It’s stated in various articles that as many as 70% to 85% of youths in juvenile detention and prison come from fatherless homes. Researching the number of fatherless households, it’s about one in four children. Though this makes me sad, we’re here to thank the fathers who didn’t add to that equation. But instead, subtract from it.
I would like to shine a light on the fathers who continue to fight for their kids every day. Instead of giving up because “the law isn’t on your side”. You are much appreciated in every aspect. Especially from your babies. As of 2025, nearly 1 in 3 Black fathers (ages 25-40) were paying regular child support. These statistics just show one specific race of broken homes. Now imagine adding on the rest. So, fathers who step up, please see what you are doing. See how you are lessening these statistics by being there for your creation. So once again, thank you to the fathers who try every day.
Thank you for putting all the money you do into the court. The attorney costs, the complexity of the case, court costs, location fees, and, depending on whether it’s an easy case or a hard one, are not a small amount of money. That can range from $3,000 for an uncontested case to over $50,000 for a highly contested one. Thank you for holding patience through all and everything. With all this being said, I would like to give a personal thanks to my father. A man who continues to fight every day for me and my brothers. You are truly appreciated and loved. I hope fathers who haven’t stepped up, after reading this, realize how crucial it is to be there for your children.
Have a blessed day.
Jordan Morgan
