These recipes are coming from Sally’s baking website.
To start, let’s begin with a classic apple pie. Someone even said, “ I love apple pie, my grandma always makes me sweets!”. So here’s the recipe for a nice and warm apple pie to make at home. To start, you will need to make your dough, so here’s a quick and easy recipe if you don’t have any pre-made dough. All you will need is 2 ½ cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of salt, 6 tablespoons of chilled and cubed unsalted butter, ⅔ cup of chilled vegetable shortening, and some ice water. Now onto the real meal, the apple pie. The ingredients are: 10 cups (1250g) of ¼ inch thick apples, which will be around 8 apples. Next, you will need ½ cup or 100 grams of granulated sugar, ¼ cup (31g) of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of lemon juice, 1 and ½ ground cinnamon,
¼ teaspoon of ground allspice, ¼ teaspoon of ground nutmeg, and an egg wash of 1 large egg beaten with a tablespoon of milk. For more in-depth, visit the apple pie recipe.
Moving on to the second recipe, we are going to introduce the more nutty flavors of the season! If you’re a peanut butter fan, this recipe is the one for you. Let’s jump right ahead with some peanut butter blondies! To begin the baking process, preheat the oven to 350°F.
To combine these, in one large bowl, whisk ¾ cups of unsalted butter (slightly melted), along with 2 cups of packed light or dark brown sugar, just until combined. After adding 2 large eggs and 1 extra egg yolk, with ¾ cups of peanut butter, and 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract. After combining the wet ingredients, add in 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, and 1 teaspoon salt. Fold this into a rubber spatula; the batter should be thick. Finally, drop in some Reese’s and fold it in. Bake for 30 minutes, and if still wet, continue checking every 2 minutes with a toothpick until it’s moist. Finally, let it chill and enjoy!
For our final recipe, we will be making some pumpkin bread. This is probably the easiest recipe and the most foolproof one. It’s very hard to mess this one up, so it’s basically extremely beginner-friendly. Pre-heat your oven to 350°F, and grease up your loaf pan, preferably a 9×5, and line it with some parchment paper. First mix 1 and ⅓ cups of all-purpose flour with 1 teaspoon baking soda, 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon, ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg, ¼ teaspoon ground cloves, ¼ teaspoon ground ginger, and ¾ teaspoon salt. Mix until combined, then add in your wet ingredients, which will be 2 large eggs, 1 and ½ cups of granulated sugar, 1 cup pumpkin puree, ½ cup vegetable oil or coconut oil, ¼ cup orange juice or milk, and 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract. Whisk everything until it’s combined, then pour your batter into the loaf pan. Bake from 1 hour to 1 and ½ hours. Continue checking on it to see if it’s good with a toothpick; if it browns too quickly, grab some foil and cover it loosely. Finally, let your bread cool, and enjoy it with some honey or maple syrup, or even any topping or drink of your choice!
