Thank you to Our Crossing Guards

Dear Crossing Guards,

Thank you so much for all you do. You are out there every single day in all kinds of weather getting all of us students, teachers, and parents around safely. Thank you for making us all feel safe when coming to and leaving from school. I’m sure you know that every year 1,700 children under the age of 16 are killed and 240,000 are injured in car accidents. That number would be much higher if it wasn’t for you.

I also want to thank you for being able to save peoples’ lives. Because of you, parents are able to send their kids walking to school because they know they are going to be able to cross the street safely. Someone’s life can be saved within seconds if there is a crossing guard around, you all are around for the safety of everyone.

There are over 26,280 of you currently employed in the United States, looking out for our safety! You all risk your own lives everyday for the safety of  us, you guys provide safe crossings at roadways and appropriate behavior for the children. You guys can have bad days just like anyone else, but you are always out there with a huge smile on your face getting everyone around safely.

Thank you crossing guards around the world for all you do for our communities safety, with helping the children get to and from school safely. Even in the worst weather you put everyone elses safety first, which is why we should be thanking each and every one of you for all you guys do.

Sincerely,

Pamela Bonilla-Guerra
