As you all know, Donald Trump is now in office for a second time and is the 47th President of the United States. President Trump has officially sworn into office and he had a huge ceremony on Monday. Trump’s family attended along with celebrities such as Lee Greenwood, Laura Ingraham, and Tucker Carlson. Former Presidents and Vice Presidents attended such as Barack Obama, Joe Biden, George Bush, Bill Clinton, Mike Pence, Dan Quayle, and Kamala Harris. Trump made many promises and pledged a “golden age” for the country. Here’s how his inauguration went and the most important parts of it.
During his inauguration, there was lots of snow and cold weather and there were millions of people there. It was specifically -6 degrees C, and so he announced that it would be moved to the US Capitol building’s Rotunda. As I stated, Trump noted that the so-called “golden age of America starts now”. He also said he would stop the “vicious violent and unfair weaponization of the justice department”, which was a backlash against Joe Biden. He states that his goal is to “create a nation that is proud, prosperous, and free”. Turning to immigration, Trump said that the Democratic White House was protecting “dangerous criminals” and illegal immigrants.
Trump’s solution to these “dangerous criminals” is to declare a national emergency on the Mexican border. Declaring a national emergency on the Mexican border involves sending money and troops over there. Trump called the cartel a “foreign terrorist organization. Abiding by the Alien Enemies Act of 1798, he says that he’d use the “full and immense power of the federal and state law enforcement”, meaning that he would use the entire power of the US military to fight criminals inside the US. One of Trump’s promises was to make America a “rich nation again”. He promised to finally stop inflation, specifically saying he’d “rapidly bring down costs and prices.” As for the energy emergency declared on the southern border, Trump would defeat through gas drilling and increased oil.
Trump then said that there are only “two genders – male and female”. He vowed to make this a policy in the US government and promised to sign an executive order in which it would roll back protections on transgenders. This order would eliminate diversity, equity, and inclusion programs of the federal government. For the US international partners, he promised the resumption of American control of the Panama Canal along with tariffs. He also wants to rename the Gulf of Mexico to “Gulf of America”. Trump says “We will pursue our manifest destiny to plant the stars and stripes on planet Mars.” But, territorial claims in space aren’t allowed due to the 1967 Outer Space Treaty.
As I said, Trump made many promises and has many, many goals in mind that will bring America to the “golden age”. Will he keep these promises or break them? Do you agree with Trump’s goals for the US? His goals and promises may leave many questions and many people unhappy. But, we shall see how America will turn out. Will Trump’s decisions for the US make America worse, or will we truly be in our golden age?
