As of 2024, there are 1.475 billion cars on the road, or 1 car/5.5 people. But some continents have more cars than others. Let’s go through the continents the most!
- Asia – Asia has more cars than any continent, 543 Million cars. These cars vary in size, from small sedans to big SUVs. Which is 1 car/8 people.
- Europe – Europe has 413 Million cars, 1 car/1.79 people. European cars are mainly a bit small. And a lot of them are becoming electric.
- North America – North America has 358 Million Cars, 1 car/1.70 people. They’re mainly larger SUVs. North America is becoming an EV hub.
- South America – Our southern neighbors have 84 Million cars, 1 car/5.26 people. South America’s vehicles are sedans. And the continent is a hub for lithium mining.
- Africa – The poorest continent has 26 Million vehicles, 1 car/53 people. Africa is by far the continent that lacks vehicles the most. The continent seriously lacks EVs.
- Australia – The Land Down Under has 21 Million cars, 1 car/1.23 people. The continent is a hub for lithium mining used in EVs. The continent’s vehicles are smaller.
- Antarctica – You’re PATHETIC Antarctica! Only 50 cars!?! (Clears throat) all gas cars
