This year on May 22nd, Disney and Pixar released a short film titled “Out”. It is about a man named Greg. He has a secret that he is hiding from his parents, which is that he’s gay and has a boyfriend, Manuel. Greg and Manuel are planning to move to another city, but he needs to tell his parents his secret before he leaves. He has a conversation with his dog, Jim,  practicing what he would say to his parents. “ ‘Just look them in the eyes and say, ‘Mom, Dad, I’m — this is my boyfriend, Manuel,’ ” he says to his dog.

I don’t think, but I know that this short film will have a huge, positive impact on the world. It’ll show those who are scared to come out that it is okay. It will also show those who think that being gay is wrong that there is absolutely nothing wrong with them and they should learn to love themselves.
