The story of Selena Quintanilla is like no other, starting from performing in small weddings, when she was 10 years old, along with her family band, to performing on stage in front of many many People. Selena was the most amazing and talented artist in the world in her time. You may have heard her song Como la flor and Dreaming of you, and many other songs by Selena when she was about in her twenties, she also did perform with her band, their name was “Selena Y Los Dinos” Selena wasn’t just all that, you see, she was happily married to Chris Perez, an American guitarist, and she was also a daughter to the Quintanilla family. Selena did everything to make her dreams come true. She opened up a boutique, started her own fashion line and even made time  to record songs with the help of her brother, A.B Quintanilla. There’s so many things and amazing facts about who and what Selena was growing up.

The first ever time anyone has heard Selena sing was when she performed at small weddings, she would sing some American classics or even a bit of Spanish music. At age ten, everything was going well, Abraham, also known as Selena’s father, tried as hard as he could to book his family band to more events. When Selena was in high school, she wasn’t showing up for class that much and she was missing school, failing some classes.  So, Her dad pulled her out of school and homeschooled her, also keep in mind that Selena’s father rented out a bus for their family tour around some states. Selena was battling homeschool and performing for some crowds at some small concerts. Soon enough, Selena was becoming more popular and having more concert tours and so on.

Selena released her first album at the age of twelve. She took the award for Female Vocalist of the Year in 1987 at the Tejano Music Awards and landed a recording contract with EMI a few years later. Selena was growing her singing career during her 20s and made a record deal with a new singing company. As time went on, Selena had met her future husband when her brother, AB, was looking for a guitarist for their band. Chris Perez was about in his 20s at the time he met Selena, after a while, he and Selena were in love you would say but Abraham never approved of it. Sooner or later, Selena would marry Chris and move with him into a house of their own. Selena and Chris had their ups and downs but they worked through it together.

In 1995, that was the year that Selena Quintanilla passed on, she was murdered by Yolanda Saldivar, a woman who she thought was her friend. Selena’s story may be long but it also inspired people, she wasn’t just a singer, she was a model, spokesperson, businesswoman, songwriter and lastly actress. The story of Selena would and will never be forgotten or changed. She was talented and kind and also thoughtful, making everyone love music and just making people happy. She has made everyone feel happy and proud back in her time. One special quote Selena had said is, “Always believe that the impossible is always possible.”
