Braids always make me feel cute and confident. There’s so much you could do on your own, too, and each one has its own style. Here are some of my favorite braided hairstyles that every Black girl should try at least once.
- Fulani Braids
Fulani braids come from Africa, and they have designs. I like them cause you can do any design you want.
Boho braids
Boho braids look messy in a cute way. Some pieces of the hair stay out and look curly. They give the vibe like you’re on vacation.
Knotless Box Braids
These braids don’t hurt as badly as the others cause they start with your own hair first. They move easily and feel light. You can do a high bun, ponytail, or just leave them down.
Goddess Braids
Goddess braids are big and pretty and make you feel powerful. You can wear them in a bun or straight back, add some curls at the end, and it just gives them that extra touch.
Lemonade Braids
Beyoncé made these famous in her Lemonade album. They go to one side and look super cute. You can get them in any color or add beads if you want them to stand out and look good on you.
Passion Twists
Passion twists look like braids, but curly and bouncy. They look super pretty and soft. If you like a more chill style, those are perfect.
Cornrows with Designs
Cornrows never get old. You can make hearts, lines, or other cool shapes in your hair. It’s a fun way to show off your style and be creative.
Stitch Braids
Stitch braids are neat and clean with little lines between each braid. They kinda look sporty but still girly. I like them for when I want a cute and simple look.
Feed-In Braids
These braids start small and get bigger when more hair is added. They look smooth and natural. You can even mix all the colors you like to make them pop.
Braided Ponytail
A braided ponytail always looks nice, no matter what. You can wear it high, low, or to the side. Add some baby hairs and a gold string, and you’re good.
