As you may know, school is over in just 4 months and that means prom is coming up. Students and faculty have come together to make sure our prom this year is good for us. We have done some activities to raise money and to lower our dues money, but not a lot of us are participating in the fundraisers that lower our payments. Our generation has come to the point where we hardly care or don’t have the time to participate in these activities even though they help us.

Prom is being held at The Grand in Totowa, NJ (June 13, 2024 6:30 PM- 10:30 PM). Do to the low fundraising we have done so far, our prom tickets are $110 per person. Over the past few years, prom has been closer to $60 based on the class’s success with the fundraisers. I believe with our high price, many seniors will not attend prom. 

For the 2024 graduates, some of us don’t know what a dance or prom is. The eighth grade prom/dance was canceled because covid started happening and it continued to spread for 4 years. Now that we are seniors with little success on our fundraisers, most of us will not attend prom but because of how high the prices are going to be.

It is sad because prom is a great milestone in the life of a high schooler. Many kids have looked forward to this moment in life and dancing with our friends and peers. We have responsibilities inside and outside of school, whether we want to or not, but we have to make fundraisers a priority. So I call on you, Class of 24′ to do your part so we can all enjoy this iconic event.
